Overview

The Director, Warehouse Lending will lead the largest of the Mortgage Finance business segments, including developing and managing a dedicated sales team supporting 170+ clients and $17+ billion cumulative commitments, managing a large, dedicated warehouse operations team, and partnering closely with risk, credit, and technology groups that are directly aligned with the business. 

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of 30+ individuals by providing guidance and assistance in day-to-day responsibilities for funding, loan validation, limit exception processing and settlement activities
  • Working with Mortgage leadership to administer the process on loan level and facility level exceptions on lending facilities and oversee counterparty approvals related to take-out investors and closing agents
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and compliance with program and facility agreements
  • Leading periodic discussions with Credit, CCRA and Operational Risk on loan performance and operational risk metrics
  • Working in collaboration with senior management to lead periodic discussions on budgeting for direct and indirect technology support expenses and recommendations for efficiency improvements
  • Working with the established product owners to develop and execute the technology plan for all Lending Operations systems
  • Leading all regulatory discussions on asset lending operations' process and systems
  • Ensuring internal/external systems are performing as expected with a focus on enhancing the client experience
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures and regulatory updates
  • Reviewing and/or approving certain Client legal documents, margin calls, transaction related reporting, and internal surveillance reports
  • Actively participating with MFG management on strategic planning, and new product and program development
  • Managing vendor relationships related to loan processes, including being responsible for document custodian policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years warehouse lending experience
  • 5+ years of management/leadership experience
  • Successful track record of identification and assessment of threats and opportunities for warehouse lending. Proven track record of developing strategic measures to counter or optimize and enhance the business model.
  • Experience in leading and growing a business organization with a national footprint. Must demonstrate the ability to rapidly assess a fluid business environment and modify strategy to align business unit to environment.
  • Significant experience in B2B business models with ability to assess client requirements and oversee the development of products and services designed to fulfill these requirements.
  • Must demonstrate ability to identify and incorporate technology that innovates, reduces front line risk, streamlines processes to achieve desired efficiency goals and/or achieves greater client satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership skills that optimize motivation, innovation and accountability.
  • Must be able to manage a diverse organization that fosters tolerance and inclusiveness with the ability to manage conflict.
  • Expert level of knowledge in the residential mortgage sector with extensive experience in sales management and loan operations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to thrive in a regulated environment and with government agencies (OCC, FHLB, FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA). Must have the ability to succeed in a highly matrixed bank environment.
  • Ability to analyze, design, create and implement controls to associated with warehouse lending
  • Quickly review and assimilate TCB credit policies to set strategic direction of business
  • Ability to group a highly efficient team
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and achieve results
  • Strong change management skills
