    The ideal special assets candidate will be able to partner with our Relationship Managers and clients to find win-win solutions in difficult circumstances. A strong understanding of legal remedies coupled with exceptional negotiating skills is required, but we also aspire to find someone who can balance that with a collaborative personality. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with Relationship Managers and clients to resolve loans that have been assigned to Special Assets
    • Review credit quality to determine appropriate course of action
    • Responsible for restructuring criticized loans and the subsequent monitoring
    • Formulate and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with outside counsel as needed
    • Prepare for and implement foreclosures and liquidations as needed
    • Properly manage risk rating of each loan assigned to the portfolio
    • Properly manage reserve and charge-off recommendations to management
    • Prepare periodic reports for senior management
    • Monitor delinquent loans
    • Act as a liaison and work closely with the other members of the Credit Policy team

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
    • Minimum 10 years of commercial banking experience including strong special assets/workout experience
    • Understanding of legal remedies available in loan default scenarios
    • Prior experience working effectively with outside counsel
    • Experience and knowledge of Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external parties under difficult circumstances
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of banking principles, policies and procedures
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources
    • Proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel
