    This position will partner with internal IT, lines of business, external vendors and other teams to address business and/or technology needs. Communication skills, technical capability, and business understanding make this role a dynamic and well-rounded position needing a versatile, team player.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with line of business managers and maintain organization relationships to ensure privacy and data protection practices are documented, distributed and aligned with ISO/IEC 27002 and ISO/IEC 27017 standards, regulatory requirements and contractual requirements
    • Create, compile, and write privacy documentation, including formal policies, procedures, process flow maps, how-to-guides, references, manuals and handling procedures
    • Maintain operational process for receiving, documenting, investigating and responding to privacy and data protection incidents
    • Partners with data owners to conduct privacy impact assessment for new products and services
    • Develop and maintain analytic and reporting roadmap for data management and business intelligence demands
    • Collaborate with business and technology teams to propose solutions, provide strategic direction and prioritize business intelligence demands
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define information needs, develop business cases and manage service levels
    • Develop performance metrics and analyze, evaluate, and enforce service delivery against targets
    • Assist in conducting training for newly appointed employees.  Integrate privacy and data protection into other training programs, such as HR, call centers, operations, marketing, sales, and training
    • Assist with operational maintenance of ongoing awareness materials
    • Monitor news, events, laws and regulations to compile lists for review in relation to required program and policy updates
    • Monitor for changes to any socio-economic factors that have a Privacy/InfoSec impact
    • Maintain Privacy Shield compliance and adherence to global privacy laws for the organization
    • Monitor for changes to regulations regarding international data transfers to countries that do not provide adequate levels of protection
    • Review new vendor contracts specifically for any international data transfer compliance requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of 2 or more years of privacy related experience required
    • Solid understanding of fundamental US and Global data security and privacy laws required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
    • Minimum of 1 year experience with privacy contracts experience required
    • Working knowledge within financial services business preferred
    • Understanding and knowledge of privacy and information security standards (e.g., ISO 27001/27002, 22307, 23001, 29100, 31000, NIST SP800-53, Cobit, FFIEC, etc), and commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the privacy and information security field preferred
    • Knowledge of company policy, procedures, protocols and program management preferred
    • Any IAPP certifications a plus 
    • Outstanding analytical and project management skills.  Ability to proactively diagnose and solve complex problems and simultaneously manage several projects.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  High aptitude to collaborate and drive change management initiatives
    • Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results.  Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively across business functional areas 
    • Demonstrated experience working in a flexible, dynamic, professional environment
    • Demonstrated experience strategic thinking skills, creative problem solving, analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentation skills
    • Active within privacy and Data protection professional communities strongly preferred
    • Preferred experience in: Effectively authoring and implementing information protection department policies and procedures. Identify & remediate gaps and issues; developing databases, reporting and metrics; efficiently evangelizing information protection initiatives; communicating effectively with stakeholders
    • Functional Key Competencies: Familiarity with financial, compliance, customer service, policy and procedures, management of records
    • Proven ability to produce documentation and correspondence for C-Level executives
