The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for the daily and month end general ledger/sub-ledger account reconciliations.  The reconciling responsibilities include multiple clearing and cash accounts as well as all principal, interest accrual and fee receivable accounts associated with the core loan accounting system.  This position is also responsible for preparing required regulatory reporting and variance analysis against tight deadlines and reviewing daily loan system exception reports, working with other team members for resolution. 




  • Performs daily manual reconciliation of all loan general ledger accounts.  Provides documentation necessary for loan operations personnel to identify and clear outstanding items or work with other departments to clear outstanding items within the standard timeframe. 
  • Review loan system exception reports, including system-generated and ad hoc reports, to validate the accuracy of GL and sub ledger processing, and work with original entry resource to clear the exception.
  • Prepares monthly required regulatory reporting, variance analysis and detailed reconciliations reports in a accordance with general accounting principles.
  • Identifies training requirements through analysis of repetitive errors and provides information to management for resolution.
  • Assist with special projects as an SME on the control environment for Loan Operations.


  • Minimum of 6 years banking experience, which includes 4 years accounting experience required.
  • College degree preferred but commensurate work experience will be considered.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make independent and sound judgment calls on resolutions related to monthly yield analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sub ledger to GL processing with strong accounting skills required.
  • Demonstrates superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees using proven customer service skills.
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to multi-task, detail oriented, and independently prioritizes competing tasks.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a proactive style.
  • High proficiency in the use MS Excel required.
  • Works as a member of a cohesive team with the ability to tactfully communicate with other employees regarding identified errors, offering assistance to others during peak periods.
