Position Summary

The Manager Data Warehouse leads a team of data warehouse developers responsible for maintaining TCB’s existing data warehouse and related integrations.  Specifically this role will manage a development team responsible for Microsoft SQL and SSIS development.  Additionally the role will manage staff recruitment, allocations, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide direction for the team to provide high value in support of business operations
  • Guide team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of changes to the existing data warehouse environments
  • Ensure team follows corporate change and release management policies
  • Provide technical leadership to project managers and developers working on development projects
  • Research and make recommendations on SDLC processes to improve delivery against business objectives
  • Collaborate with IT operation and business teams in escalated support of the production data warehouse system
  • Provide input into work prioritization across numerous development efforts for sprint and/or project planning
  • Assign development resources to achieve maintenance and project goals
  • Provide encouragement, recognition, and support to the team
  • Responsible for general staff management and supervision duties as directed by upper management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS related area and/or 5+ years of experience managing a team of developers preferably in the data warehousing discipline; Financial services experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong discipline in full life cycle development required
  • 15+ years strong technical experience focused on data management systems, data warehousing methodologies, and technologies to support a team of developers required; other technical management experience applicable
  • Technical experience with the Microsoft SQL Server stack desired
  • Experience with TFS or similar source control and work tracking systems desired
  • Knowledge of different software development methodologies desired (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Outstanding organizational and effective time management skills 
  • Ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
