The primary role of the Third Party Risk Assurance Manager is to monitor and audit the on-going performance and compliance of the Bank’s third party business relationships to ensure they meet regulatory, federal/state guidelines and TCB requirements. This requires confirmation of adherence through desktop due diligence audit reviews as well as on-site field audits with an emphasis on the Critical, Tier 1 and other higher risk services. The position will work closely with the various business teams and other Bank subject matter experts in the identification and remediation/resolution of regulatory and audit issues. The position will also frequently interact and represent the Bank to our third party providers, including at the executive levels. The position will work closely with multiple business stakeholders, compliance and legal on a daily basis. Position requires travel of up to 50%+ per month to third party locations.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the annual due diligence assessment of Critical, Tier 1, Tier 2 and higher risk third party services utilized by the Bank. Failure of proper oversight could result in immediate and significant financial, regulatory, legal or reputational loss to Texas Capital Bank.
  2. Conduct complex onsite audit reviews of select third parties following a risk based approach to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls around and applicable regulatory programs, identify gaps, assess related risk, and determine residual risk.  This includes oversight of onsite quality and compliance audit testing related to third party services and proactively researching potential issues
  3. Complete on-site review write ups and scores to document the completion of the audit reviews and any Findings. Will coordinate and lead the agenda and meetings while onsite at the third party facilities. This requires professional interaction with all levels of third party personnel
  4. Will have to maintain a very strong knowledge of the many regulatory (CFPB, OCC, AG), investor (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae) and TCB subject matter expert requirements to ensure that each third party meets those requirements as applicable. Must be able to competently interpret and apply the requirements independently to mitigate risk to Texas Capital 
  5. Perform desktop due diligence review of current and prospective third party providers to assess their control structure compared to TCB and legal/regulatory standards/requirements and make an assessment of the residual risk each brings to our company
  6. Identify needed updates to existing contracts for gaps in compliance, legal or regulatory requirements. Support new contract negotiations as needed to support department responsibilities 
  7. Oversee and confirm the resolution of any compliance gaps identified during the annual due diligence process
  8. Develop and manage various projects related to the third party management activities. This could be as a project lead or supportive role to an existing project or contract negotiation
  9. Perform others duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-5 years experience in a third party risk, vendor management or applicable role; financial services experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements related to the financial services industry preferred
  • Experience with RSA Archer eGRC preferred
  • Ability to define problems, collect/analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and prepare reports
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated success in leading projects within a multi-project environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other similar applications
  • Team oriented, flexible, ethical and professional
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and use influence to execute against business priorities
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of each month
